There are millions of websites and blogsites from all around the globe, each presenting and selling a different thing. Some websites focuses on marketing and selling products while some websites are informational and educational websites. No matter what website it may be, each website or blog requires a design layout or a background that will make the webpage more interesting and attractive to readers and visitors.
Therefore, this had led to the impetus in the amount of web designs available in the market. Some of these layouts are free while some are put up for sale. But no matter which design is chosen, the main objective of design layouts is still to sell the company brand to customers and readers of the website.
In this article, we will be presenting to you about the usage of subtle texture for websites. Subtle texture and pattern is technically repetition of the same design. Despite its simplicity, textures and patterns are a great way to add character and flair to the website and its graphical design. Subtle patterns are usually used for site backgrounds, but these patterns can also be used for site components like the header and footer of the webpage.
Subtle patterns can make a website look more authentic and classic compared to modern design layouts which might be too flashy and colourful. The usage of simple texture and pattern designs will reduce the noise in the webpage and make it clean for users to navigate. Subtle textures and patterns are suitable for websites which should look professional and classy. For example, company and school websites. Webpage users of these websites want things to be orderly and neat so that they can minimize the time needed to search for the required material on these professional webpages. All in all, the right amount of texture and pattern is required to make a website look stunning and simple at the same time.
If you find that the above paragraphs are a little hard to comprehend, we will let the pictures below do the talking. We present to you 20+ beautiful websites using subtle texture and patterns created by various talented web designers. We hope that you might be able to apply some of these subtle textures and patterns in your own website. Enjoy!

Hi,
Does anybody know how to create planet textures in Photoshop. I read about it in this guy’s submission on creaTTor, that he used Photoshop to create the textures, and then animate the planets. Does anybody have any ideas about the 3D capabilities of Photoshop? The original like where I read about this:http://www.creattor.com/textures-patterns/xyn-planet-graphix-5026
